Why I'm Running...

I want freedom, growth and prosperity for my daughter Mary & my son Shane, and for the children of my neighbors and friends here in South Queens and the Rockaways. I am also very lucky to realize Christine and I live in the greatest country on earth, and we were both raised by parents who strove for 'better'...not only for their own families, but also for their neighbors and friends.

And I believe we can accomplish much more by wasting less.

Albany, most regrettably, is wasteful, corrupt, dysfunctional and lobby-prone at the margin. Without change, New York's great core will be corrupted, too. New York City was also fraying at the edges in the 70's and 80's, but was revived by Republicanism, Conservatism and Prudent Fiscal Management. I believe Albany, too, can be revived with Republicanism, Conservatism and Prudent Fiscal Management.

I am humbled & honored in this effort to be endorsed by the Queens County Republicans, Queens County Conservatives and Queens County Independents.

Without you, though, nothing changes...I need your help to unseat a 20-year incumbent and begin the process of reform to restore, revitalize and rejuvenate Albany.

About Gerald Sullivan

Jerry Sullivan was born in Bay Ridge Brooklyn where he learned the values of honesty, hard work, and community service.

In 1969, Jerry’s parents Mary and Paddy purchased a summer bungalow in Breezy Point. They volunteered for the Rockaway Point Volunteer Fire Department and instilled in their children the importance of giving back to the community.

After graduating college, Jerry and his younger brother Patrick began a career on Wall Street. Sadly, Patrick died in the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001. Despite his personal agony, Jerry turned grief into a genuine desire to help others in need. This is his main inspiration and one that only drives his passion for public service.

The Sullivan family boasts active and retired New York City police officers, and union members. Jerry hopes to bring this background to State Government where he will be a tireless advocate for middle and working class families.

Jerry currently lives in Rockaway with his wife Christine and their two beautiful children Mary and Shane.
